Maroon 5 Close New LP 'Red Pill Blues' With 11Minute 'Closure,' Keyboardist Boasts About 'Bringing the Extended Jam Back'
publish date: 2017-11-03
"Closure" is by far the longest song in Maroon 5's six-album catalog.
So you're listening along to Maroon 5's new album titled Red Pill Blues, which arrived today (Nov. 3), and everything is feeling very familiar and Maroon 5-y until you get to the tenth track, "Closure" (the last song on the band's sixth studio standard album, No. 10 of 15 on the deluxe version).
"Closure" is 11 minutes and 29 seconds long.
For the first four minutes, Adam Levine is singing a falsetto-laced pop song about a couple seeking closure having one more night together, and the turmoil attached to that. But then, the song keeps going strictly instrumental, swapping guitar and organ riffs for seven-plus minutes.
